Maple flowers

This spring has been a tremendous year for flowering trees.  Do you suppose they saved it up from last year which was a bust?

I had the opportunity to shoot a lot of maple tree flowers.  I’m not sure why I focused on them … they just showed up in front of my camera.

Boxelder male flower

Boxelder male flower.  Boxelders are also call Ash-leaf Maple because its leaves are compound and look like Ash leaves rather than typical Maple leaves.

Sugar Maple flower looks much like the very closely related Black Maple.
