Plant A Day – Toothed Spurge

Toothed Spurge is part of that famous Euphorbia subgenus – Poinsettia.  It’s a closely related sibling to that lovely Christmas plant and is alternately known as Green Poinsettia.

Toothed Spurge is native to parts of the U.S., but I’m not sure which parts.  I know that it grows around my drive, barn and compost pile.  It’s cool to think that there’s a wild Poinsettia plant growing on my homestead.

A close look at this plant shows very similar flowers and fruits as Poinsettias
