Plant A Day – Browneyed Susan

To my impression, Browneyed Susan is a daintier sister to the other Rudbeckia’s, i.e. Blackeyed Susan.  It’s a mid-sized Rudbeckia with smaller flowers but more of them per plant.  They tend to grow in small groups wherever I’ve seen them, mostly prairie-type places.

The flowers are smaller than the Blackeyed Susan

Gather round me people, got a song to sing
About that sweet magnolia time
Black eyed Susan made some catfish stew
And papa brought some homemade wine

Black-eyed Susan is the official drink of the Preakness!

The Black-eyed Susan is the only authentic paddlewheel dinner boat in Baltimore!

Black-eyed Susan is Huntsville, Alabama’s premiere party band!

I could go on and on!!
